Benedict Barnabas Series

Saving the world is hard. Saving your sister? That’s the real nightmare.

One night. One bite. Things are about to get really hairy.

He didn’t even believe in them. Because, let’s be honest, how many people in their right mind do?

He’s just a normal kid. His bucket list included pizza, a job a NASA, and a peaceful life free of his grumpy neighbor, Mrs. Peter’s.

Ben is sure of himself. He is sure of who he is. He is science-minded, skeptical, and absolutely certain that monsters do not exist.

Unfortunately, he is wrong about one of those things. Very, very wrong.

You probably guessed that it’s the monster part.

Here’s the thing about Ben: he is not the Chosen One. There’s no prophecy. No magical birthmark. No camp for demi-gods. Because that’s NOT REAL.

He’s just a kid who wants to be a scientist.

Beneath Ben’s perfectly ordinary suburban neighborhood, the one with the cul-de-sac and the Dairy Queen and the school that is pretty normal, there is a monster prison. Ancient. Mayan. And, unfortunately, leaking. The lock has been deteriorating since December 21, 2012, which you probably don’t remember, was the day the world was supposed to end. It didn’t end. It just got worse. Gradually. Like something running out of batteries.

Now creatures are squeezing through the cracks. A banshee. A mummy. A vampire with a day-job as a phlebotimist.

But there are two things in Ben’s life that are worse than monsters: a new girl at school and Ben’s older sister. Is it a coincidence that both of them are girls?

Armed with a jar of blessed salt, a Benedictine crucifix, and his best friend MC, who knows every ghost story ever told, Ben tumbles headfirst into a world where the impossible is possible and deeply inconvenient, not to mention life threatening.

Ben is cool because when everything goes sideways, and trust me, everything goes sideways, he shows up anyway.

Sometimes even when he’s grounded.

Usually while being blamed for something that was, at most, 55% his fault.

That’s your hero. You’re welcome.
